Forest School

Making STIG Dens

On 11th November we combined our Forest School lesson with the Climate and Change Summit. We watched a video on how to do a nature journal and then went outside to observe our surrounding area. When we got back to class, we then created our first nature journal entries. We would have loved to do this activity fully outside but the weather wasn't on our side! 🌿🌧💨

On Friday 4th November we had our first Forest School lesson. We took wool and measured the circumference of the trunks of some trees and then used a metre stick to find the exact length of the wool we used. We then had to half the length to find the approximate age of the trees. Then we had to find what year we thought the oldest and youngest trees were planted! What a challenge!
