World Book Day

  World Book Day 2024

This year we celebrated World Book Day on Wednesday 13th March.

This year, instead of dressing up as a book character we decided to do things a little bit different.
Books are full of words, so we asked pupils to come to school dressed as a word.

They were able to wear a costume that illustrated their chosen word and we hosted our very own ‘Word Walk’.

This year we did not want parents to spend money, but be creative with the resources they had at home. Each pupil had their word clearly displayed on their costume.

Our day began with a whole school assembly. Pupils were treated to a short sketch from our school staff dressed up as characters from Snow White and the seven dwarfs (from our recent panto). The fun began we they did their very own ‘chase’ scene from the panto. Afterwards each class paraded to the front to show off their costume and chosen word.
When the children returned to their classroom they completed a range of World Book Day activities with some classes reading to the younger pupils in the school.

Check out some of our photos and
