Mini Rugby World Cup

KPS Mini Rugby World Cup

Today our pupils participated in a Mini Rugby World Cup event in which they were split into 6 international sides: Australia, Fiji, France, Ireland, New Zealand and Tonga. The pupils had a blast getting onto the pitch to practise their rugby skills while also keeping fit and healthy. The weather wasn't perfect, but we certainly didn't let a bit of rain and mud dampen our spirits.

Congratulations to:

France - Winners of Y1/Y2 Competition

New Zealand - Winners of Y3/Y4 Competition

Tonga - Winners of Y5/Y6/Y7 Competition

We also presented the winners of our ‘Design A Rugby Jersey’ Competition with their prizes. 8 very happy pupils (one from each class) took home a brand new rugby ball each. Congratulations and we hope you enjoy practising your rugby skills more at home.

A massive thanks to our referees today from Enniskillen Rugby Club: Rob, Derek and Ben.

Rob is never too far away from Kesh Primary School and always keen to lend a hand when it comes to helping our pupils develop their Rugby. Derek is one of our parents at the school and Ben is a past pupil, who was scoring tries in a KPS rugby shirt not that long ago himself. The three men gave up their time this morning to referee all three of our mini tournament. They are sure to have sore throats this evening after 3 hours of shouting ‘Touch’ on repeat.

We really appreciate your help men and hope you enjoyed being part of such a fun day at KPS. We couldn’t have done it without you! Special thanks should also go to Mr Allun Hawthorne who has been out coaching a number of the classes over the last few weeks to prepare them for the event. Thank you. πŸ‰
