December 2020

Nursery has been a hive of activity so far this month.  Besides arts and crafts, tree decorating and games,  we have created a stable in our role play area where we have been reenacting the first Christmas story.
Due to the strange year  we find ourselves in, we have not been able to host our annual nativity play for our parents and friends in the primary school. However, thanks to the wonders of technology we have been able to produce a simple nativity and film it to share with our families. We hope you all enjoy it.

This month our little folk have also been busy recreating the poem, ‘When Santa got stuck up the chimney’ as part of the whole school Christmas video message.

Thanks to the Getting Ready to Learn initiative, we have received funding for a gift pack for each child in our setting based upon the three things we are carrying out this year, namely:

Big Bedtime Read

Happy healthy kids

Ages and stages

In previous years we would have had home learning packs going home each week based on these three themes. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to send these packs out to homes this year. So instead we have ordered these packs and we have added in some booklets that we have made ourselves with ideas on how to use the simple equipment to help our children develop their skills and encourage them to stay active. We will continue to add activities using these materials through Seesaw over the weeks and months to come with key skills highlighted so that our parents can help their child to harness all their potential.

May we  take this opportunity to wish all our families a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. 🎄🎅
